Freshly harvested arts news: Edition #5 Winter

FRESHLY HARVESTED

Local creativity, gathered and shared

by Assorted Grains Inc

What a epic couple of months we've had! We kicked off July with an incredible week of pride events and activities.

The Logan Pride March and Picnic saw a couple of hundred folk join us for a wonderful afternoon of celebrations, music, ballroom vogueing, circus and queer creatives.

Then we followed it up with a whole week of Pride in the Plaza.
Hosted at Grand Plaza Shopping Centre, we presented an Australia-first; a week long activation of inclusive, pride-friendly arts, crafts and story time activities for the community.

The goal was to build on Grand Plaza’s existing ‘Safe Space Logan’ directory status, to create a visibly inclusive space for the diverse LGBTQIA+ community, and help them feel welcome within the centre.

It was a collaboration with Humanitarian Circus, The Salvation Army Communities for Children, and funded by CS Energy. We engaged 137 participants over 6 days, reaching 99,630 people with our content across the week - normalising pride in everyday life.
